Super Swamper Tires

Super swamper tires are one of the most aggressive of all off road tires. While they are DOT legal (street legal), these tires are really designed for the serious off road enthusiast. The truth is, there is just no other tire that can slash through mud like a set of super swamper tires. If you do a lot of street driving, these are not tires that you want on the street. They are generally known for having a smooth quiet ride when compared to traditional mudder tires, but are still quite a bit louder than an all-terrain.

Super Swamper Tires generally have a designation of TSL, meaning “Three Stage Lug”. As you can see in the image above, these large lugs offer both extreme traction, and a better ride, since the middle lugs overlap, so as to prevent the typical noise you’d get with a tire like the TSL Bogger.

There are several types of super swamper tires manufactured by Interco. Below I’ve listed some of the more popular models that you will likely see on the trail, as well as the product description from the manufacturer’s website.    

Original Super Swamper TSL

The original Super Swamper TSL (first image above) was first created in the year 1970.  It was the first 78 series full traction tire introduced. The original Swamper tire is the most copied and imitated of all RV traction tires. The Super Swamper TSL, when compared to the Swamper, offers even more ... increased mileage, deeper treads, quieter, smoother ride, less rolling resistance and tougher sidewalls. The original TSL super swamper tires are now only available by special order.

Super Swamper TSL BOGGER 

The Super Swamper TSL/BOGGER (middle image above) is built primarily for the professional mud bogger. The tire is versatile... D.O.T. approved and street legal... easy to modify for the cut, open, and pro stock classes. A new design for a new generation of competition performance.  These tires are not very well suited for highway driving, as they are very loud, and tend to “howl” as you drive.  However, people who are buying these super swamper tires generally know exactly what they are getting themselves in to. 

Super Swamper TSL Radial

The Super Swamper TSL Radial (third image above) is the most aggressive light truck tire ever developed. It is designed for a very smooth ride at surprisingly low noise level. It is based on the principles of the original Swamper 78 series, which quite literally were known for breaking new ground in the mud tire industry.  The Super Swamper TSL Radio offers unsurpassed traction under the toughest conditions, yet for a swamper, it offers surprisingly good on-road handling and noise levels.
